Dealer Training Workshops and Training Materials

First 2008 Dealer Training Workshops

Regular Sessions:  April 28-30 & April 30-May 2

Advanced Session:  May 3

The first set of 2008 Bergey Dealer Training Workshops will be held in Norman, Oklahoma during the week of April 28 - May 2.  Basic sessions will be held Monday, April 28th to Wednesday, April 30th and another starting Wednesday, April 30th and continuing through Friday, May 2nd.  Both programs will cover the same material.  We have two sessions in order to keep the class size down for the field work portion.  We will also offer an optional one-day Aerial Tower Work class on Saturday, May 3rd.

The Basic Classes will feature one day of classroom work and two days of field work, and will include a factory tour.  The classroom work will concentrate on the home and farm grid-intertie (AC) market, covering BWC products, site surveys, budgeting, performance and economics, interconnection, and permitting.  The fieldwork will cover the full installation of a 10 kW BWC Excel-S on a 100 ft. Guyed-Lattice Tower and a 1 kW BWC XL.1 of an 80 ft. Tilt-up Tower.  Class size will be limited to 12 people per session.  Both sessions will receive their classroom work on Wednesday, April 30th.

The Aerial Tower Work class will cover tower stacking of the 10 kW Guyed-Lattice tower using a gin-pole and capstan winch, blade removal and installation, and alternator removal and installation.  Students will be required to work at the top of the tower.  The class size will be limited to 6 people.

The Workshops are designed for our dealers, but attendance by non-dealers will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  The classroom work will be taught by Mike Bergey.  The field work training will be conducted by Pieter Huebner, our award-winning "windsmith".

Training Notebook and CD-ROM

BWC dealers who have not attended one of our Workshops can purchase the extensive (~ 400 pages) Workshop Notebook & CD-ROM ($75 + shipping) or the CD-ROM alone ($25 + shipping).  The CD-ROM has all the PowerPoint presentation materials from the three day Dealer Training Workshop, a number of other BWC presentations on a wide range of small wind topics, a complete copy of the BWC web site, and hundreds of digital photos.

Please note that the curriculum was changed in 200 and the CD has the course-work used through 2006.  It covers domestic and international markets and on-grid and off-grid applications.
