A breakthrough in small wind affordability

The Bergey Excel 15 is the newest addition to the Bergey product line and is the most advanced and economical small turbine in the world. With its large rotor and excellent low wind performance. It can power a total electric home and an electric car or a farm or small buisness.

The Excel 15 is the product of five years of innovative development partially supported by the U.S. Department of Energy. The Excel 15 lowers the payback period of a small wind turbine by more than 50%, allowing this made-in-America renewable energy system to compete with imported solar systems. It’s powerful enough to allow you to replace fuel oil or propane heating with electric heat (beneficial electrification) and to charge an electric car.

Large rural homes + Electric cars

Connected to the grid, the Excel 15 can provide the electricity for an average total electric home at moderate wind sites. The Powersync III inverter is the most advanced in the industry. Small wind systems qualify for a 26% Federal Tax Credit, making them an even more affordable investment.

Farms

The Excel 15 is well suited for farming operations in areas with suffucient wind rescources. An Excel 15 can produce as much energy as a 35k solar system, with an 80% smaller footprint. Grants are available for agricultural producers and rural small businesses through the USDA’s Rural Energy for America Program. For more information click here.

Small businesses & Farms

Small wind systems qualify for federal tax credits and accelerated depreciation, making it more affordable than ever for businesses to offset their electricity costs.

Why buy a small wind system?

A Bergey wind turbine is a smart investment that will lower your monthly expenses, increase your net worth, and help support American manufacturing jobs. At the same time it will help clean the air, slow climate change, and move us towards energy independence.

You will also enjoy watching your utility meter turn backwards and the lively interaction between the wind and your Bergey turbine. Finally, it will totally change your view of wind – you will start appreciating windy days.

For those fortunate enough to have a windy site of at lease two acres, a Bergey wind system will be substantially less expensive than a comparable, mostly imported, solar system. It will take up less space, and its performance won’t degrade over time.
